EDUCATION NEWS

  • Southeast Alabama Community Theatre received an $11,300 grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts to fund its student theatre education series in 2026, offering after-school classes and summer camps to more than 200 students across Wiregrass.  Rickey Stokes News

  • Meteorologist Zack Webster detailed January tornado reports and explained the ingredients for tornadoes while warning that tonight's extreme cold will drop temperatures to the upper teens and lower 20s. Residents in the area should prepare for the coldest night yet.  WTVY

  • A United States Veteran's grave at the cemetery on Montgomery Highway and Montana Street received maintenance when a metal plate was placed over the vault on Monday, Jan. 26 (as the city follows up on contractor delays).
