EDUCATION NEWS

  • A Dothan ninth-grade student placed 7th in a statewide Microsoft Office competition and earned recognition for her academic skills + inspiring local peers.  Dothan Eagle
  • Two local parents founded Shepherd School in August to help Dothan students with dyslexia using Orton-Gillingham — a multisensory method that boosts reading skills and confidence — and the school now hosts nine students while preparing to transition them to traditional classes.  WTVY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Last evening, local volunteers in Lucy gathered to address concerns over financial mismanagement and agreed to rebrand their unit as Chattahoochee Volunteer Fire Department (replacing the Lucy name) to improve local fire and EMS coverage.
