  • Scott Anthony Patterson, a beloved Dothan native and longtime Georgia Pacific employee, died Feb. 21 in Graceville. His memorial (scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28) at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel will allow friends and family to honor his legacy.  Rickey Stokes News

  • The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is accepting 2026 scholarship applications from high school and college students planning careers as first responders. Applicants must submit by the deadline (Monday, Apr. 20 at 3 p.m. CT or once 500 applications are received).  Wiregrass Daily News

  • City officials announced that Dothan will be designated a Purple Heart City at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24 at the City Commission Chambers (in the Dothan Civic Center) and a reception for veterans will follow at the Opera House (downtown).  Wiregrass Daily News

  • Wiregrass Electric Cooperative presented a check to support Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva through the Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program to keep essential rural healthcare services active.
