At 1:50 p.m. today, Houston County dispatched responders to a rollover accident on Highway 231 South and State Line Road where two SUVs—one Ford Explorer and one Chevrolet—collided; sheriff deputies arrived by 1:53 p.m. and rescue units later transported three injured passengers to Southeast Health while ALEA Trooper Spencer Adkinson led the investigation.

Today a structure fire at 100 Doncaster Way led Dothan Fire, Pilcher Ambulance and police to the scene after a passerby spotted smoke and flames at 6:19 p.m.—firefighters had the blaze under control by 6:35 p.m. while they protected nearby structures.

Dollar General said nearly 150 stores will close in early 2025 — and the local Popshelf may be on the list.

The company said the closures will help strengthen its business after changes in 2024.

At 8:03 a.m. today, Dothan Police, Dothan Fire and Pilcher Ambulance responded to a structure fire at 306 North Bell — the same site that hosted an arson fire weeks ago which led to an arrest — and fire prevention investigators are determining today's cause.
