  • The Tri-State Community Orchestra will celebrate 30 years by revisiting favorite tunes in its Encore! The Best of the TCO program — the event will showcase cherished pieces that highlight the group's three-decade musical journey.  WTVY
  • A six-month-old black puppy named Mamba went missing after the tornado because she could not smell her way back home — she was last seen near First Christian Church or Ramsey Park and residents are asked to call Victor Smith at 3344220479 if they spot her.  Rickey Stokes News

  • Dontavian McCree pleaded guilty as one of several suspects in the killing of sleeping Christina Moore during a drive-by shooting in 2020 in Dothan.  WTVY

CULTURE NEWS

  • The 4th Annual Loop Music & Art Festival in Dothan is set for April 11-12 and will feature over 43 artists, eight musical performances and live demonstrations — with free entry and guided tours to enhance the visitor experience.  Wiregrass Daily News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Education coordinator Kelley Curington said Landmark Park in Dothan will soon host a new exhibit in connection with one of the biggest names in museums.  WTVY
  • HudsonAlpha Wiregrass is enrolling rising 6th through 9th graders in summer camps that offer hands-on science experiences at Dothan High School (registered families will receive confirmation packets with location and drop-off instructions). The Middle School camp runs June 9 to 11 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and the High School camp runs June 16 to 20 with a $150 tuition fee for the foundational session while waitlists and scholarships are available.  Wiregrass Daily News

  • The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF1 tornado struck Dothan on April 2nd at 12:31 p.m. and moved 3.1 miles with a 200-yard width – reaching winds up to 105 MPH.  Rickey Stokes News
