- ➤ The Alfred Saliba Family Services Center will host the C.A.N.P. Carnival Fun Fair at 301 W. Lafayette Street on Saturday, April 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to honor Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month, and families will enjoy carnival games, a Stroller and Wagon Parade, and free refreshments while they are encouraged to wear blue. - ➤ City officials in Dothan secured a $7 million federal grant — aided by Senator Tommy Tuberville — for a new multi-purpose community center next to the Wiregrass Public Safety Center on Ennis Road. - ➤ After the March 31 tornado damaged Dothan Preparatory Academy and nearby campuses, school leaders and city officials met to review the response and build better emergency plans. - ➤ The Houston County Probate Office said it does not issue new STAR IDs and will only renew or replace existing ones. All new STAR IDs must be obtained at the ALEA Driver License Exam Office at 5679 Montgomery Highway in Dothan — residents 18 and older flying domestically must have one by May 7 to avoid travel issues.
