- ➤ St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Gordon and its schoolhouse received a historic marker on Good Friday as local officials (Chairman Brandy White and Commissioner Tracy Adams) and longtime church members celebrated the designation. - ➤ The Ozark Dale County Library will host an Ice Cream Social next Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in its outdoor green space to honor volunteer support and offer free ice cream sundaes—an event open to all volunteers and their families. Wiregrass Daily News
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On April 19th at approximately 12:32 p.m., Geneva County 911 dispatched fire crews to 1543 South County Road 49 in Malvern where a tractor caught fire and a vehicle overturned — firefighters quickly controlled the blaze with no injuries while officials urged drivers to slow down and move over near accidents. - ➤ Today at 4:03 p.m., Dothan 911 dispatched units to Fairfield Inn at 3038 Ross Clark Circle after a second-floor pull station activated an alarm and a volunteer reported a fire—firefighters from several engines and trucks, led by Battalion Chief Jack Wood and Fire Chief Larry Williams, entered the building, checked each room, and secured all guests while containing the incident. - ➤ An Alabama VA spokesperson said he would not comment on reports that a work crew ignited a fire at the CSM Bennie G.
