- ➤ On April 16th, Dothan police charged 32-year-old Isaiah Jamal Turner with interference with custody after he drove away with a child (under two) following unwanted sexual advances during a ride to a doctor’s appointment; authorities said the child was safely returned to her mother when Turner was arrested. - ➤ Emmy-winning comedian Sheryl Underwood will headline the Mix and Mingle Comedy Tour at the Dothan Opera House on Sunday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. as the show also features comedians Kyle Erby and Mike Washington; tickets go on sale on April 23 at 10:00 a.m. with a pre-sale available on April 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (code LAUGHDOTHAN). - ➤ Houston County Extension Office will host a two-day ServSafe Food Safety Training from May 6–7 with classes at 10 a.m. at the Alabama Cooperative Extension System building at 1699 Ross Clark Circle in Dothan — the $150 course is designed for food service workers, restaurant managers and others looking to earn or renew certification — and registration is required as space is limited. - ➤ The Alabama Education Association sent a letter accusing Dothan City Schools Board Chairman Scott Childers of leaking confidential information and creating a hostile work environment—Childers replied that the letter lacked specific examples and questioned its intent to restrict his free speech.
