EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Dothan Tech students won top honors at the Alabama SkillsUSA State Leadership Competition in Mobile from April 21–23 as Robert Williams (Graphic Arts) and Charles Hickerson (Pre-Engineering) earned gold medals and will compete at the national SkillsUSA conference in Atlanta this summer. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A bill introduced by Rep. Mack Butler would stop SNAP dollars from buying soda if the USDA grants a waiver. Butler said the measure targets children’s health and follows similar moves in Arkansas and Indiana — though he does not expect it to pass this year. WTVY
