  • Families are invited to join the free Barbour County Youth Fishing Rodeo at Blue Springs State Park on Saturday, May 30. Registration starts at 8 a.m., fishing runs from 9 to 11 a.m., with prize giveaways at noon + the first 100 children receiving a free rod and reel.  Wiregrass Daily News

  • Lynn and Brooke Hughes have run The Farmer’s Daughter Country Store for six years, drawing local farmers and travelers for lunch and fresh honey on the road between Ozark and Ariton. They began beekeeping when their supplier fell short, which has boosted the store’s community ties.  WTVY
