  • The Dothan Civic Center is hosting The Park Series at Porter Park on Saturday, May 23 with Birmingham-based artist Pynk Beard headlining and Dcovan Mathews opening at 5:45 p.m. Food trucks and vendors open at 5 p.m. for free live music and family fun.  Wiregrass Daily News
  • On May 19, the Southeast Alabama Community Foundation awarded $55,350 in Community Trust Grants at the Wiregrass Museum of Art to nonprofits that support education programs + social services across the Wiregrass.   • Chipola Health and Rehab will host a free Summer Bash on May 29 from noon to 4 p.m. at its facility, offering carnival games, inflatables, a sweet treat walk and shaved ice, with donations benefiting residents and staff.  Wiregrass Daily News

  • Enterprise State Community College in Enterprise is hosting a week-long train-the-trainer program for STEM and CTE teachers from Alabama (and nearby areas) to earn job-ready skills. The training will help educators bring hands-on learning in fields including automotive, oil, food and live sciences.  WTVY
  • Dothan Technology Center's graphic arts teacher, Gina Burdeshaw, was named a top 10 finalist for the Claes Nobel Educator of the Year Award by the National Society of High School Scholars today and will receive a $1,000 prize + a personalized Golden Apple Award + an invitation to the Scholar's Day celebration in Atlanta this August.  WTVY
