Walter Hill marked his 22nd anniversary as CEO of Wiregrass United Way today—he shared how his passion continues to drive the organization's progress.

Veterans and community members will join Colors of Courage, a free creative arts event at Fort Novosel Arts & Crafts Center on Tuesday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—organizers say the event supports veteran mental health with activities like painting, sculpting, and using craft kits provided by Help Veterans Heal and partnered groups.

Ryan Anderson received Officer of the Year at the department’s Promotions and Awards Ceremony on May 15. The awards honored their service + highlighted their leadership in the department.

Crews will soon tear down the old Dothan Eagle building on Oates Street to clear space for a new city annex building near the new city hall—city commissioners approved a $300,000 contract and city managers said historic signage may be saved before lane closures begin next month.

A free suicide prevention workshop named the Intervene Challenge will be held on July 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Church on Boll Weevil Circle in Enterprise—teaching community members to spot warning signs and take action to help reduce veteran and civilian suicides.
