- ➤ Iquane Brown, charged with murdering former Headland High School basketball coach Sammy Jackson, now faces additional charges for allegedly assaulting a jail officer in Georgia in April—he is accused of aggravated assault, obstruction, terroristic threats, and inciting a riot. - ➤ The Dothan Performing Arts Department will launch its first Park Concert Series at Solomon Park on June 18 at 6:30 p.m. with free live music, food, and art demonstrations—The Burney Sisters will headline the event while local singer Aileen Clayton opens the show and vendors like Greek Street and P.S. - ➤ Alabamians can now send a text message to 911 in an emergency thanks to a Text to 911 service approved by the Alabama 911 Board—designed to help when speaking is difficult. The service is available statewide, but calling 911 remains the most effective way to reach emergency responders. Rickey Stokes News
- ➤ Filings in the 20th Judicial Circuit on May 23 listed various civil, criminal, small claims and traffic cases in Houston and Henry counties, with matters ranging from contract disputes to account collections.
