  • Methodist Side, one of the oldest Black neighborhoods in Enterprise, is hosting a Community Fest to honor its rich heritage—residents will gather to celebrate unity and tradition.  WTVY

CRIME NEWS

  • Dothan Police found a body in a burning vehicle on Monday just before 1 p.m. on the 3500 block of Napier Field Road near John D. Odom Road — investigators and Fire Marshals are working to determine the cause of the fire.  WDHN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A new Alabama study shows that homes built or retrofitted to Fortified standards had fewer and less costly insurance claims after Hurricane Sally, with insurers and homeowners saving millions. State officials said the program cut claim frequency by 55% to 74% and plan to expand grants to three more counties this year—helping more families lower repair costs.  WTVY
  • Kyle Scott, a Wiregrass resident, announced his run for Dothan City Commission seat three. He said his campaign will bring over 3,000 jobs by funding projects including a Wiregrass Adventure Park that may create 400 to 800 jobs & a city-backed center that will offer internships, workshops, & church-run gardens while supporting working-class families, with the election set for August.  WDHN
