  • Dothan City Animal Shelter introduced its Pet of the Week, Krylon, a five-year-old male brown tabby who is neutered and loves attention + he is available for adoption Monday through Friday.  WTVY
  • Dothan ranked No. 190 on U.S. News & World Report's 250 Best Places to Live list for 2025–26 and was named No. 18 for cheapest places to live in the nation—low home costs and short 17-minute commutes helped earn the ranking—showing local benefits for residents.  WTVY

CRIME NEWS

  • Dothan police responded to a robbery during Memorial Day weekend at the 2900 block of Saint Peter Street and charged four suspects — including a juvenile charged as an adult — after a victim in a car was threatened by armed individuals.  WTVY
  • Between May 23rd and May 26th, Dothan Police responded to incidents including an armed robbery on St. Peter Street, a burglary in progress at KFC North on Ross Clark Circle + a vehicle fire on Napier Field Road where a body was later found.  Rickey Stokes News
  • Four suspects, including three young men and one juvenile, were charged with armed robbery on Saint Peter Street over the weekend when a suspect entered a vehicle and demanded property — all face first-degree robbery charges with a $60,000 bond and the juvenile will be tried as an adult.  Rickey Stokes News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Dothan’s newest mural, honoring the city’s first Juneteenth parade in June 2021, was unveiled on the side of the SEACAP building at 601 North St. Andrews Street. Alabama native Erica E.L. Chisolm painted the tribute, and Mayor Mark Saliba + former WTVY anchor Reginald Jones helped reveal it.  WTVY
