  • Sweet Grown Alabama hosted its annual farm-to-table dinner at Dalrymple Farms in Coffee County, where members met local farmers and enjoyed meals made with Alabama beef, fresh vegetables, and local honey—sourced from nearby member farms—while local eatery Corks & Cattle and social media personality Chelsea Gieselmann helped prepare the feast.  WTVY
  • Two local women-owned businesses are hosting a free lunch event for children on Tuesday, June 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1188 N. Range St in Dothan. Chefkym will serve a full hot lunch (prepared on-site) and Missy Mae’s Snack Shack will offer cold snacks (to help beat the summer heat) at the event.  Wiregrass Daily News
  • Haven Oasis will host a two-day BBQ fundraiser on Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22 at the corner of Headland Avenue and East Stough Street—barbecue on Saturday starts at 2 p.m. until sold out and Sunday runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., with all proceeds supporting local transitional housing for families in need.  Wiregrass Daily News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Slocomb Fire Rescue and other units went to a house fire Friday night around 11 p.m. at 1517 East County Road 4 in Slocomb—firefighters brought the blaze under control while ensuring everyone left safely and power was shut off.  WDHN

  • Sam’s Club announced on June 5th that 96% of its Member’s Mark food and drink products in Dothan are now free of almost 40 artificial ingredients — including artificial colors, high-fructose corn syrup, and aspartame — on its 'Made Without' list.
