CRIME NEWS

  • More than 100 neglected dogs and cats were rescued from a rural home near the Jack and Pike County line after a friend alerted rescuers that the homeowner—currently hospitalized with cancer—could no longer care for her pets, and rescue crews are now treating the animals while planning an adoption clinic Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Tractor Supply in Troy.  Wiregrass Daily News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Students in grades 6 to 9 at Dothan High School are exploring DNA and biotechnology this summer in HudsonAlpha’s week-long Code of Life program.
