- ➤ Commissioner Bradley Bedwell said during the June 17 meeting that even though crime has dropped by 20 percent, recent gunshots in public places have left many feeling unsafe, and City Manager Randy Morris has greenlighted a Real Time Crime Center that will use the city's 2000 cameras, high-tech drones, and Shotspotter technology to respond quickly to incidents—renovations on the old e911 building are underway with an opening planned shortly after the new year. - ➤ Dothan authorities said that Annie Huffstutler was denied bond on Monday after she was accused of fatally shooting her husband, Shawn Watson, while he slept—minutes before the shooting she searched online for how to shoot a gun and later changed her story from saying the gun went off by accident to admitting she fired it, with five children in the home hearing the shots. - ➤ On June 20, 2025, the 20th Judicial Circuit filed a range of civil, small claims, traffic and criminal cases in Houston and Henry counties — judges handled disputes from account collections and contract issues to alleged motor vehicle negligence and criminal charges.
