Dozens of volunteers formed a human chain Monday afternoon to move thousands of books from Downtown Books' old location to its new store down the street in downtown Dothan.

Volunteers received raffle tickets for door prizes and students earned community service hours in this local display of teamwork.

The Level Plains Police Department is hosting its 6th Annual Fireworks in the Park on July 4 at Level Plains Park — a free community celebration offering inflatables, a dunking booth, craft displays and a one-hour continuous fireworks show — and parking is available via County Road 1.
