ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A popular Downtown Dothan bar—Rain Dothan—is closed until further notice after a fire started in an outdoor planter at around 6:40 a.m. Saturday, with fire officials saying the blaze was quickly put out and the building’s inside was not damaged. WDHN
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Dothan man was injured in a high-speed chase that ended in a crash late Friday night when he allegedly flipped his vehicle on Highway 431 near Denton Road and Flynn Road; police, fire, and ambulance crews responded and he was taken to a local hospital. Wiregrass Daily News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Dothan Police Department will offer a free RAD self-defense course for women and girls ages 12 and older on August 9 and August 16 at the Wiregrass Public Safety Center on Public Safety Way. The course lasts 12 hours each day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break — space is limited and registration is required. Wiregrass Daily News
