- ➤ Former WTVY anchor Reginald Jones—who spent 37 years in broadcasting, including 24 at WTVY—will be inducted into the ABA Hall of Fame on August 8 during the association’s annual conference. WTVY
- ➤ Devoted father, veteran, and local favorite Danny Ray McKnight died on July 3 at age 73 in Macon; born in Dothan, he was known for his generosity and deep faith. A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park — with military honors and Bro. Charles Goldsmith officiating. Rickey Stokes News

- ➤ Authorities in Daleville are investigating after shots were fired into an occupied vehicle Tuesday—injuring one person who was taken to Southeast Health in Dothan, where the victim is in stable condition. Wiregrass Daily News

- ➤ Alabama Aviation College is hosting its third annual aviation camp that will end with a trip to Fort Rucker — the home of Army aviation. Camp participants will gain hands-on exposure to aviation operations as part of the program. WTVY
- ➤ Doctor Garrick Askew will take on the role of Dothan school superintendent if the deal is finalized—he becomes the first Black leader in the position—and he comes from Georgia where he held leadership roles in Clarke County, ending a divided board's search amid upcoming municipal elections. - ➤ The USTA Boys ’14 Tennis tournament is held in Dothan as hundreds of top junior players compete all week—games start at 8 a.m. each day. WTVY
- ➤ City leaders, community members, and sports fans gathered at 9:00 a.m. today at 1603 Stadium Street to break ground on a new pickleball complex featuring 25 covered courts (a facility aimed at boosting local recreation and sports tourism) with construction to begin immediately.
