- ➤ A Dothan man was killed after 32-year-old Eric Major was shot in Montgomery’s forest park early Wednesday morning—Montgomery police said another person is recovering from gunshot wounds and no arrests have been made. WDHN

- ➤ Senator Katie Britt’s newly passed Illegal Red Snapper and Tuna Enforcement Act directs NIST and NOAA to create a test kit to verify where red snapper and tuna are caught so law enforcement can stop illegal imports that hurt local fishermen—this step aims to protect an industry that supports over 12,000 jobs and brings in more than $1.1 billion. - ➤ Former Secretary of State John Merrill told the Dothan Kiwanis Club that if Barry Moore runs for Senate he will be very formidable—Moore, known for his past political upsets, is set to announce his decision on August 15 in a small north Alabama town while polls show state Attorney General Steve Marshall leading.
