- ➤ A fisherman who launched from Ommusse Creek Park near Columbia did not return on schedule and Houston County 911 sent deputies and a WASP helicopter—search crews quickly made contact and found him safe. Rickey Stokes News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ At 1:47 PM today, Houston County 911 dispatched to a trailer park in Avon on U.S. Highway 84 East after a male was stabbed in the neck, chest and legs—his injuries were not life threatening as deputies arrived by 1:50 PM and the alleged suspect fled the scene. Rickey Stokes News
- ➤ On Friday night a person was found dead in a car at Cici’s Pizza in Dothan — dispatch reported the death as natural with no foul play suspected and authorities have not released the identity. Wiregrass Daily News

- ➤ Local groups in Dothan released a free list of school supplies and hairstyles+ to help families prepare for back-to-school; the list shows where residents can get these essential items. Dothan Eagle
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Alabama Farmers Federation has endorsed U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville for governor, with federation president Jimmy Parnell noting unanimous support from all Alabama FarmPAC trustees. The endorsement supports Tuberville's plans to help farmers deal with high production costs and low commodity prices amid rising financial challenges. WTVY

- ➤ LifeSouth Community Blood Centers will host a blood drive at Southeast Health on July 24 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the 7th floor of the Doctors Building where the first 50 donors will receive a free ticket to Water World — all participants will also get a free T-shirt, with Southeast Health employees receiving a special TOGA. - ➤ Wiregrass residents are advised by the CDC to clean smartphones, laptops, and headphones with a soft cloth and alcohol-based disinfectants during high heat and humidity to remove grime and germs.
