- ➤ First responders gained a new point of reference after Venturing BSA Crew 150 and the Alabama Scenic River Trail Company placed markers along eight miles of the Choctawhatchee River to improve safety and river maintenance—Damon Case, the crew secretary, said the project benefits the community and he plans more similar efforts in the future. - ➤ The Alabama Forestry Accelerator will be housed in Dothan and help startups create new solutions for the state's important forestry industry — supporting local growth. The program is set to launch soon and aims to boost job opportunities in the region. WTVY

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Sen. Katie Britt and other lawmakers advanced the 2026 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act that sets aside $119.4 million for improving Alabama military bases. Fort Rucker will get $28.4 million for new flight control towers, a fire and rescue station at Tabernacle Stagefield, a medical support building, and a maintenance hangar — and the bill will be considered by the Senate before it moves to the House.
