  • After nearly one year of construction, the new Wiregrass Pet Rescue and Adoption Center is set to open this fall in Dothan and will feature 20 jumbo dog kennels and seven free-roaming cat rooms. CRIME NEWS

  • A 22-year-old man from Brooklyn, Patrick Zatreanu, was arrested on July 24 in Houston County for using an illegal skimming device to steal ATM data—he faces charges of fraud and theft with a $45,000 bond, an arraignment on August 12, and a trial on September 23 while investigators continue looking into other suspects.  Wiregrass Daily News
  • Dothan police charged 23-year-old Patrick Zatreanu with theft, computer tampering, and encoded data fraud after his group used ATM skimmers to steal over $100,000 from a local bank last year (investigators are checking similar devices placed in ATMs in the Enterprise area).  WTVY

  • The Alabama Department of Environmental Management will hold a public hearing on July 31 at 6:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at the Dothan Civic Center to review proposed changes to the permit for the City of Dothan Sanitary Landfill—residents and stakeholders may offer oral or written comments with technical details.  Wiregrass Daily News

  • Terry Bollea, who later became known as Hulk Hogan, began his wrestling career in Dothan as Terry 'The Hulk' Boulder where he learned from local announcer Charlie Platt and faced opponents like Andre The Giant.
