  • A judge set a hearing next month to decide if evidence from an 8-hour interrogation will be suppressed after Stephen Craig Miller—accused of strangling his wife and dumping her remains under a bridge—claimed that police coerced him by denying his request for a lawyer.  WTVY
  • Billy Ray Marchman, a Dothan inmate serving 99 years for the 2004 murder of his wife Pamela, nearly faced release six years ago — he was briefly freed due to a near-death condition — and his parole board will reconsider his release on August 13.  WTVY

  • Dothan High’s Athletic Booster Club will host the 1st Annual Wolf Howl Booster Ball on August 14 at 6 p.m. at Windmill Station—guests 21 and older can buy $75 tickets until August 4 and enjoy dinner, door prizes, a silent auction and a cash bar while wearing DHS spirit wear or casual attire.  Wiregrass Daily News
