- ➤ Miss Dothan Callie Thompson and Teen Miss Dothan Emerson Cotton discussed a school supply distribution event—partnering with the city's housing authority and Dothan First Church—to help provide students with the essentials they need. WTVY
- ➤ Dothan Leisure Services announced that the pickleball courts at Eastgate Park will close for maintenance from August 4 through August 8, and the courts will reopen on August 9 — city officials thanked the public for their patience as crews made improvements to keep the courts safe and enjoyable for all players. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Strings4Heroes will return to the Wiregrass on Monday, August 4th from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Church on Boll Weevil Circle next to Enterprise High School, offering free guitar lessons to veterans, active-duty military, and first responders. The event features the Chord Buddy System — developed by local Travis Perry — which helps older veterans control the guitar strings even if they are beginners. WDHN

- ➤ Local groups in the Wiregrass are hosting back-to-school events to offer kids supplies, free haircuts and food for a fresh start at school — a supply bash on August 2 at the FUMC Gym in Dothan, a splash event on July 31 at Water World, and backpack giveaways in Geneva, Ozark, Abbeville and Dothan — all planned to help families get ready for the new school year.
