- ➤ The U.S. Army Aviation Museum in Fort Rucker is hosting a National Aviation Day celebration on Aug. 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with free family activities and exhibits—more than 40 local vendors and partners will offer games, a flight simulator, a mobile planetarium, and food trucks, and non-military visitors need a pass to enter. - ➤ At 3:42 PM, Henry County Central 911 received a call from a man on his property who accidentally shot himself while loading his ATV Mule/Gator, and deputies provided first aid before Abbeville Rescue transported him to a Dothan hospital where he is conscious and talking (the bullet missed vital organs). - ➤ A single-vehicle crash on Coffee County Highway 127 near Coffee County 147 at around 5 a.m. on Sunday killed Brian J. Baldwin, 46, of New Brockton, and Brittany Faye Dakota Taylor, 22, of Ariton—neither wore a seat belt as the 2003 Nissan Frontier overturned, struck trees, and crashed about 10 miles northeast of New Brockton. - ➤ APAC-Alabama crews are improving the intersection at North Oates Street—West Troy Street from today through August 15, and lane closures along North Oates Street are expected during daytime hours. Motorists should exercise caution and plan for traffic delays. Wiregrass Daily News

- ➤ The 30th Annual South Alabama Pro Rodeo Classic will take place Aug. 15 to 16 at the Dale County AgPlex in Ozark, offering food, family-friendly entertainment and professional rodeo action.
