- ➤ SOS Animal Shelter in Enterprise introduced Marvelous Molly, a five or six year old Catahoula mix who loves other animals and is great with kids. Families can support the shelter at the Food Truck Face-Off on Friday, Sept. 12—10% of sales and matching funds from Mitchell CDJR will benefit the shelter. WTVY

- ➤ Authorities arrested 65-year-old Billy Mooney in Houston County on Tuesday — an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children unit traced claims of child pornography distributed on social media to his Pitts Drive residence, leading to his arrest and the seizure of electronic devices. - ➤ The Houston County Sheriff’s Office warned residents that a phone scam is targeting them with calls that pretend to be from ICSolutions—the inmate phone service provider for the county jail—in which callers ask for money via debit or credit cards and personal details, and said no official ever calls for such information, urging anyone unsure to hang up and call ICSolutions directly. - ➤ Jenna Kate from Wicksburg will compete in the Miss Peanut pageant while promoting her community service project Spilling Faith that began on Instagram when she was twelve — the program now aids local girls with school supplies and Bible verses. Wiregrass Daily News

- ➤ The Dothan Livestock Market reported increased receipts from 534 last week to 620 on August 25th and showed higher prices for feeder cattle with steady figures for slaughter and replacement classes. Rays Restaurant now manages the onsite cafe and will serve breakfast & lunch on Monday as the market marks its 33rd year. Rickey Stokes News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On August 27, the 20th Judicial Circuit in Houston and Henry County held court sessions with Judge Lewis appearing each morning in Houston County for initial appearances—covering cases from DUI and speeding to resisting arrest and theft—while other judges handled domestic and civil matters via a TV link from the jail.
