- ➤ Dothan Fire will host the Wiregrass 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Rip Hewes Stadium on Saturday, Sept.6 as participants of all ages climb 110 stories—matching the height of the World Trade Center towers—to honor firefighters and first responders who died on Sept.11. - ➤ Early this morning, Dothan police responded to a shooting at a home on the 1400 block of North Range Street that sent one person to the hospital—investigators have not determined if the victim was intentionally shot or accidentally harmed, and officers followed the vehicle to the emergency room while questioning several witnesses. - ➤ Art in Public Places has announced its 2025–2026 Junior Board—a group of high school students chosen to lead community art projects across the Wiregrass—with Providence High School senior Oliver Parsons as president; the board will also coordinate volunteers, public art events and educational programs. - ➤ Dothan’s Social Services Coordinator Stephanie Hardin introduced a new group called Supporting Our Souls—designed for parents, friends, and loved ones of those with addiction—to give families a safe space to share stories and learn healthy boundaries.
