On Tuesday afternoon, about two dozen Dothan residents attended a free QPR suicide-prevention training provided by the Alabama Suicide Prevention & Resource Coalition — supported by the Addiction Prevention Coalition and Southern Alabama Area Health Education Center — where trainers taught how to spot warning signs and use the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and QPR steps to help those in crisis. Trainers also offered two hours of continuing-education credit and shared local and national facts to show why early intervention is needed.
