  • The Dothan Police Department is inviting residents to join Coffee with a Cop as part of National Coffee with a Cop Day on Oct. 1, offering a chance for community dialogue.   • Hartford Retirement Village celebrated Ms. Doris’s 100th birthday on September 26th—marking her century milestone with a community gathering.  WTVY
  • The City of DOTHAN will open its second Outdoor Fitness Court at James Oates Park on Oct. 2 at 10:30 a.m. The free facility—featuring seven workout stations for ages 14 and up—will provide a new option for exercise in the community.  Wiregrass Daily News

  • Dothan city officials removed school board member Aurie Jenkins from her coaching role in the Leisure Services youth soccer program due to unsportsmanlike behavior—she has retained legal counsel and may pursue legal action.  WTVY
  • Governor Kay Ivey said she will not call a special session to change Alabama's 2021 State Senate map due to legal uncertainties after a federal court ruling. She said she might reverse her decision if a fair map is found and asked the U.S. Supreme Court to clarify the law in the upcoming case—Louisiana v. Callais.  Wiregrass Daily News
