GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The ALICE program, which helps working households struggling to pay for essentials, held a meeting at the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce on October 2 led by Alec Hopkins—this program is now in Alabama as the 36th state to join and aims to improve access to resources and job training for participants like Iris in Dale County. The event highlighted the financial challenges of nearly half the local population and showcased success stories from job training programs. WTVY
- ➤ On Thursday, Rep. Rick Rehm and RC & D hosted a hamburger and hotdog cookout at Douglas Park in Headland to honor first responders. During the event, first responders left when an emergency call about a gunshot wound came in and the victim was taken to Southeast Health for surgery with no reported foul play. Rickey Stokes News
