  • Beacon of Hope ABA and Akilli's House are planning the Rhythm and Smiles music program to support individuals with autism. Organizers say—details on the event’s timing and location will be announced soon.  WTVY
  • Wiregrass Pets Rescue and Adoption Center will host its first annual Sip & Pet fundraiser on Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Fire Stone Wood-Fired Grill at 2638 Hartford Highway in Dothan — the $75 ticketed event will offer heavy hors d’oeuvres, champagne, and soft background music while all proceeds support the rescue’s mission to care for and rehome animals.  Wiregrass Daily News

  • Wallace Community College-Dothan announced an updated state-funded scholarship for students earning short-term credentials in in-demand fields.   • On Veterans Day, Senator Tuberville honored two veterans on the Senate floor, including America’s oldest Marine Roy Drinkard from Cullman and Army Master Sergeant Harvey Mathis from Enterprise. HEALTH NEWS

  • Today, Southeast Health broke ground on an $81 million emergency department and patient tower expansion—its largest construction project since 1957—to meet rising emergency visits.
