- ➤ Donation bins are available today across the Wiregrass for people to drop off canned goods, boxed food, and other nonperishable items — part of the annual Miracle on Foster drive. WTVY
- ➤ Students with disabilities showcased their talents with holiday craft sales that featured thumbprint art and nail demonstrations. Today, donation bins are available throughout the Wiregrass — including outside the WTVY News4 studio — for Miracle on Foster, inviting locals to drop off canned goods, boxed food and other nonperishables. - ➤ Wallace Community College-Dothan’s Associate Degree Nursing program was named a top-two finalist for the Alabama Community College Association’s Exemplary Program Award in Teaching and Learning today + the program uses a poverty simulation called CAPS to help nursing students learn the challenges patients face. - ➤ Gov. Kay Ivey announced new application dates for the CHOOSE Act education savings account program for the 2026–2027 school year; the portal for renewing families will open Dec. 15, the new families’ portal will open Jan. 2, and award notifications will be sent on Apr. 15 + updated eligibility guidelines apply. - ➤ HUD cut permanent housing funds for the Central Alabama Continuum of Care today, reducing its support from $8.9 million to $3 million. One Roof said this change may risk the homes of 1,388 households and will analyze the impact by Dec. 30. Dothan Eagle
