  • Volunteers delivered Christmas gifts to veterans and staff at Enterprise Health + Rehabilitation Center, where they have been living after a fire displaced them since April.  WTVY
  • Kylie Spears of Meredith’s Miracles said the end-of-year campaign will support families covering travel costs for specialized child care — more than 423 children have already received help. Donations made online will ensure the nonprofit continues meeting growing needs.  Wiregrass Daily News
  • Turkeys from Heaven will feed Wiregrass families this Christmas, continuing a 28-year tradition of providing meals to local households.  WTVY
  • The Make-A-Wish Trailblaze Challenge marked its tenth year with a local event in Dothan that brought families together for wish fulfillment. The celebration highlighted a decade of community service and local spirit.  WTVY

  • Seven Dothan Schools' Career Tech Programs received a $94,467 grant from the state department of education to boost career training opportunities. The award was announced recently to improve hands-on learning for students.  Dothan Eagle

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • ALDOT has paused road work on interstates—improving travel safety—starting at noon today until Saturday, Dec. 27 and will pause again from Tuesday, Dec. 30 through Friday, Jan. 2.  WTVY
  • On Dec. 19, 2025, Judge Chris Richardson denied the Alabama-West Florida Conference's motion in a lengthy bench trial over a property dispute with Harvest Church on Fortner Street + Ross Clark Circle. The church now maintains full ownership as the legal battle continues.  Rickey Stokes News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Silver Wings Golf Course in Fort Rucker is hosting a Christmas Eve 9 Hole Challenge tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. for a two-person scramble contest; registration is available at the pro shop at $25 for members and $35 for non-members (range balls included, with extra fees for golf carts).  Wiregrass Daily News
