- ➤ Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza warned residents today to ignore scam texts that falsely claim to be from state agencies and threaten unpaid tickets or offer a lifetime pistol permit while some victims lost thousands of dollars—he stressed that government agencies do not send texts and asked people to call his office if they see any suspicious messages.
