- ➤ Rehobeth’s 6th annual Red, White and Boom event will be held at Rehobeth’s High School on June 28 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.—featuring over 40 craft and retail vendors, a free kids’ inflatable area, face painting, 15 food vendors, live music with Wiregrass native Crews Wright, and a fireworks show. - ➤ Authorities are searching for 16-year-old missing teen Qy’Nii T-Moan Vickers, last seen at 8 p.m. June 16 on Montgomery Highway near Dothan—he was wearing a red Piggly Wiggly shirt, black jeans with a white and green belt, and white Nike shoes and is believed to be in the Anniston area. - ➤ On June 19, 1865, Union General Gordon Granger and 2,000 troops reached Texas to announce freedom for over 250,000 enslaved people—this event started the tradition of Juneteenth as America’s Second Independence Day.
