Hyundai of Dothan hosted a cookout for first responders on September 18th, 2025; firefighters, police & EMTs gathered to share a meal together.
The Flag Crew honors veterans by placing a flag on each grave in Dothan to ensure every local veteran receives a token of remembrance—serving as a respectful tribute to those who served.
Berry Wardlaw from Dothan was named to the Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame Class of 2025 — he is one of nine inductees recognized for his work in motorcycle repair and for founding Accurate Engineering, and he grew up as a barefoot dirt road boy from Louisiana.

Bridge Academy in Dale County will soon launch a diesel mechanic program using funds from a $10.5 million grant — students from Troy and Pike County will join the course designed to meet high local demand for diesel mechanics.
Bridge Academy is preparing to launch the only diesel mechanics program in Southeast Alabama—teaching engine repair to help fill a local skills gap.
Wiregrass Electric Cooperative invites kindergarten through fifth grade students to enter its annual Christmas Card Art Contest.
Entries must be mailed by Oct. 6 — the grand prize winner will have their design featured on Alabama Living magazine's December cover and receive a $50 Michaels gift card while second and third place winners get $25 gift cards and every participant receives a small prize.

Tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Depot in Ashford, Chris Love announced his bid for District 2 Houston County Commission in front of family, friends, and supporters.
Love, a local businessman and farmer—who sees needed improvements on county roads to aid fire and EMS services and law enforcement—said he will work to upgrade local infrastructure and is asking for your vote.
